Help with Panda.

Updated 31 October 2026. Panda is currently in private testing; subscription verification uses Apple's Sandbox.

Finding a fresh selection

Each feed contains 20 posts. On iPhone, pull down at the top of Home to refresh. On Mac and Web, use the refresh icon at the far left of the category row or at the bottom of the feed. Scrolling, selecting Home or selecting the Panda mark does not load a new selection. Philosophy, Poetry and Art filter the current selection.

Two deliberate refreshes are free each local day, resetting at local midnight. One active subscription linked to the same Panda account unlocks limitless refreshes on iPhone, Mac and Web; buy or restore it in the iPhone app. Each device or browser keeps its own free-refresh counter. Reading the current selection, Saved and Library remains available without a subscription.

Saved posts and accounts

Tap the heart beside a work and open Saved to find it again. Without signing in, saves stay on that device or browser. Optional Sign in with Apple syncs saved-post IDs through your Panda account across iPhone, Mac and Web. Pending offline changes retry when the app reconnects or becomes active. Use the same Panda account on each platform.

Signing out restores the separate guest collection. Reading progress, library tags and reader preferences remain local. Account deletion is in Account and does not cancel an App Store subscription or remove personal books from your devices.

Subscriptions

On iPhone, open Account from the options menu, or choose Limitless refreshes / Subscription. Use Restore purchases to recover an existing purchase, with the Apple Account that made it, and link it to the intended Panda account. On Mac and Web, open Account using the account icon in the header and choose Check subscription. Stay signed in: routine checks do not require signing out. The Panda sign-in account, Apple's purchase account and your iCloud account have separate roles.

If one platform does not show Active, first restore or check the subscription on iPhone, then check it on Mac and Web while signed into the same Panda account and connected to the internet. An expired purchase does not grant active access. A purchase that is still being verified may need a short wait and another check. The current private-preview verifier accepts Sandbox purchases; local StoreKit simulations and production purchases do not establish hosted Sandbox access. Use test purchases only during this preview.

Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled. Manage or cancel them in your Apple Account's subscription settings. Apple handles billing; use Apple's purchase support for billing or refund questions. Deleting a Panda account does not cancel the Apple subscription.

Books and Send to Device

Read curated books in Panda Canon. Mac also supports personal EPUB imports and writing. Send to Device uses the existing private iCloud transfer system; the Mac and receiving iPhone must use the same iCloud Apple Account. Open My Canon on iPhone and pull down to receive personal books. This iCloud account is separate from Panda sign-in.

Book delivery does not sync reading positions or writing drafts. The website does not host personal EPUB libraries. A public Mac download will be shown only after an approved installer is available.

Reading and Library view options

Open a book and choose Begin reading or Continue reading. Continuous scrolling is the default; reading appearance settings let you opt into Pages and adjust the text and page appearance. Use Contents to choose a section, search to find a passage, or the reading-position control to move through the book. Percentage progress is approximate: different screens and reader engines lay out pages differently.

Reading positions and appearance choices stay on the device or browser where you set them; they do not sync through your Panda account. On Web, the Library view-options icon is beside the search bar, below Panda Canon / My Canon. Use view options to change the layout, sort order, tags and cover size. The number beside a book reflects its position in the current filtered and sorted list.

Offline use and content updates

Bundled native artwork and text work offline, as do locally available books. Accounts, syncing, new content downloads, Wikipedia lookups, purchases and transfers need a connection. The latest native app build must be installed once to receive automatic content publications. The daily iPhone widget uses bundled artwork and updates through app releases.

The website needs a connection to load; a book or page previously opened in a browser is not a guarantee of complete offline availability. If content or a subscription check cannot load, check the connection and retry. Avoid deleting the app or clearing browser data as a first troubleshooting step: this can remove local books, reading positions and unsent changes. Keep copies of personal EPUBs and writing drafts.

Deleting your Panda account

Open Account, expand Delete account and confirm only if you intend to remove the account and synced saves. Successful deletion removes the active account and its saved-post records; minimal purchase/deletion safeguard records may remain as explained in the privacy policy. It does not cancel an Apple subscription or erase personal books, writing drafts or iCloud transfer copies. Cancel renewal separately if needed.
